Dave Armstrong Extreme Park, located at 531 Franklin St in Louisville, KY, is a premier 40,000-square-foot concrete skatepark situated near downtown in the Butchertown neighborhood. The park, open 24 hours, is renowned for its expansive full pipe, a wooden vert ramp, multiple bowls including a massive 24-foot full pipe, and an array of street-style obstacles like ledges, stairs, and handrails. It's designed to cater to all skill levels from beginners to professionals and allows skateboards, inline skates, scooters, and BMX bikes. Despite occasional safety concerns about the neighborhood, the park remains a top choice for extreme sports enthusiasts and is usually well-lit until 11pm. Though the park does not offer on-site drinking water, visitors can enjoy some shade under structures during the day. Designed by Grindline Skateparks and operated by Metro Parks, this park was originally opened in 2002 and underwent renovations in 2014.
